Sumatran K-Cup Tasting Notes
Sumatra Coffee is one of the world’s finest premium coffees. This coffee is sourced from Sumatra, a western Indonesian island. Coffee from this region is known for its heavy body, low acidity, and earthy flavor.
Sumatra Coffee K-Cups are sold by many brands, but three are most popular:
- Starbucks
- Green Mountain Coffee
- Cambio Roasters
The Starbucks Sumatra K-Cup is an earthy, herbal dark roast. Its flavors are big and bold with spicy notes and a pungent aroma. Its full body has a heavy mouthfeel, leaving you wanting more after every sip.
The Green Mountain Sumatra Reserve K-Cup gives you complex flavors and intoxicating aromas of spice and brown sugar. This K-Cup is Fair Trade certified, so you can enjoy the coffee without the guilt.
Cambio Roasters offers a medium-dark Sumatran K-Cup. It benefits from the natural flavors of the coffee beans combined with the deep, rich flavors of a darker roast. This K-Cup is small-batch roasted in California and is Fair Trade and organic.
Sumatran K-Cup Caffeine Content
Sumatra Coffee K-Cups range 75-100 mg of caffeine per cup depending on the roaster. Light roasts typically are more caffeinated than dark roasts, so the Cambio Roasters Sumatran K-Cup contains the most caffeine of the three. Most coffees from Sumatra are Arabica beans, which have less caffeine than Robusta and are less bitter.
