According to a study done by Reuters on behalf of the National Coffee Association, 64 percent of Americans drink at least one cup of coffee each day. With the population in the U.S. now at around 325,000,000, that equals out to 208 million cups of coffee per day. It’s a bit overwhelming when you realize how much Americans love their coffee. And there are coffee clubs and coffee-related activities going on in just about every city. See why people are switching to Reusable k-cups.
Don’t Badmouth My Coffee!
If you want to get into a heated argument, then say something derogatory about a person’s favorite coffee or their favorite coffee place. That’s why it’s no surprise that Keurig took the market by storm some 20 years ago when they were first released. They started small in 1998 targeting offices where people usually make several pots of coffee each day. Today, they have over 400 different coffee varieties and over 60 different brands of coffee.
What About the Cost?

The reusable pods are a thrifty alternative.
Let’s take a popular brand called Folgers as an example and you’ll see the difference.
A 48-ounce tub of Folgers retails for about $10 and it will make 380 cups of coffee, 6 ounces each (the average cup size). This equals to a cost of about $.026 per cup. If you’re on a budget (or even if you’re not), there’s a great deal of difference between paying 60 cents for a cup of coffee as opposed to 3 cents. Over a period of time, the savings could be substantial, especially if you drink more than one cup a day or have multiple people in your family.
Other Great Reasons
But there are other good reasons to use Reusable K-Cups. With the landfills quickly becoming full, regular K-cup coffee pods can create quite a bit of trash. They may seem small, but just imagine what 208 million would look like in a big pile. That’s what one day’s worth of coffee consumption using K-Cup pods looks like. Those small things do make a difference when it comes to the trash we all throw away each day.
Got Used Coffee Grounds?

We’re making the planet greener by adding the used grounds to the soil, but not those plastic pods. As everyone is aware, our oceans are filling up with plastic. Tons of plastic fill the oceans and landfills and this is a growing problem for planet earth.
Anything we can do will make a difference, even if it seems small.
So those are two big reasons to use reusable k-cups: the cost and the excess of plastic in landfills. But there are a few other sound reasons as well.
Ready for Some Exotic Coffee?
When using the reusable K-Cup pods, you can choose from just about any brand or type of coffee that you like. Whether you’re happy with tried-and-true Folgers or would like to try all the Starbucks coffees, it’s easy and inexpensive with a reusable pod. New varieties of coffee beans are released each year.
Today, the market is full of amazing and unusual types of coffee. There’s a Peruvian coffee bean that is both organically and ethically grown. For many consumers, these are two important elements of any purchase they make. This is becoming more common with people the world over. Today’s savvy consumer looks for sustainable products that have been produced with utmost social responsibility.
Get Your Vitamins!
Each year, new and wonderful types of coffee are being invented. The latest one is infused with vitamins and natural substances that boost your energy levels. This is being heralded as a healthy switch from energy drinks, but it is a pretty darn good cup of coffee that has lots of added benefits. Wouldn’t it be great if we could get all our vitamins and minerals from that cup of coffee we drink each morning?
Easy to Use

Another great thing about Reusable K-Cups is that they’re so versatile. Most of them will work in a wide range of Keurig coffee machines, including:
- Keurig K series
- K-mini
- Office Pro
- Keurig Vue
- Dozens of others
Because of their popularity, larger coffee machine manufacturers use the Keurig coffee machine as a Gold Standard. For instance, some Cuisinart and Mr. Coffee models can accommodate these Reusable K-Cups.

Reusable k-cup pods are so easy to clean. Simply rinse them out and place them on a paper towel or rack to dry. They’re also dishwasher safe but be sure to place them on the top rack. It’s important to clean your filters after every use (especially if you switch beans a lot) to ensure best flavor.
